This year will be the second when we celebrate our end-of-school worship service on the front steps of our church. I like these worship services very much. We live in a time and culture that is more and more alienated from mainline church life. Oftentimes I wished we could provide something like an “open house” for regular Sunday morning worship. So many of our neighbors have no idea any more what our worship services are like. Well, our outdoor service is a great opportunity to provide our neighbors with some transparency. In addition, it provides our children with an opportunity to claim their importance.
It is, therefore, really important that this year’s open air worship will be one of the best attended of the year.
Please make every effort to come; your presence will be a sign to the neighborhood. Our open-air service will take place on Jun 21st at 10:30 a.m. Its spiritual theme will be the defeat of mighty Goliath by the boy, David, who later became the famous king.
On the Sunday following this service, we will resume our traditional summer worship time of 9:30 a.m.
