Hurray! Construction Has Started!

Finally, the education building, also known as “Church House”, is enveloped in scaffolding. If you consider that we applied for the planning grant in 2007 and for the preservation grant in 2009, you get an appreciation of the time periods a project like ours requires. This is no small residential stuff!

Fund-raising for Historic Preservation

By the end of February, the total of monies pledged and given was $296,999. In March, additional gifts and pledges boosted us over the $300,000 mark. We pause in the campaign to count our blessings along with the dollars. The money has already helped to restore the roof and tower of the education building and next, along with the first of our dollars from the capital grant awarded us by the NJ State Historic Trust, will fund further work on that building and the first work on the sanctuary. A Clean-up Day Turned Community Day

Our Clean-up Day on Mar 21st was remarkable in that it gave rise to a new concept of volunteerism. That day we were nineteen volunteers, six of whom had joined us from the wider community.
