We believe it is our call to reach outward as well as inward, therefore our congregation is involved in several service activities. Such as:
Â
Volunteering monthly at Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen
Â
Providing Shelter for the Homeless with the Interfaith Emergency Rotating Shelter
Â
Supporting the Hall Fund a scholarship for area graduating High School students
Â
Donating to other Organizations
Â
Â
We try to foster a new sense of ministry through cultural activities. In the Autumn through Spring we offer a lunchtime recital in conjuction with Christ’s Church every other Wednesday. Together with the Third Avenue Players, we have hosted a semi-professional theatrical performance, and our church houses the Mine Street Coffee House, which is open from September until May on Saturday nights.

Outreach at Elijah’s Promise
In service there is the promise of the hope spoken of by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We at First Reformed Church have asked for and received the blessings of working in the Elijah’s Promise soup kitchen. This blessing takes place on the second Friday of every month. The time of service is 5:00 PM for the cooking & preparing of food, and 6:00 PM for the serving of the meal.
Â
Hope to see you at Elijah’s Promise!
