March Benevolence

The Emergency Prescription Plan of FRC sets aside about $200 annually for walk-in requests for prescription support.

Generally folks drop in off the street asking for money to cover buying medication. What happens is that a person shows us a script signed by the doctor as well as identification. One of us in the office, from the pastors to volunteers, walks with this person up to the pharmacy in order to fill the prescription.

Sometimes we are asked to help out with paying heating bills. Generally these are more than we have in the budget. Still we ask the person for all the appropriate information and paperwork, then we accompany them over to the billing office of said utility and pay a portion of the bill (generally the minimum).

In 2011, we gave out more than $200 of support. However, there were generous donors for the Emergency Prescription Plan.
