Engaging in the Transformation of the World

Whether it’s a coffee hour about human trafficking or one on the inclusion of folks with other sexual orientations, or whether it’s even an entire coffee hour assembly joining in on a site visit of the construction of Dina’s Dwellings – the issue is always the same: As Christians, we don’t take the world as it is but view it as transforming through the power of God. This may sound a bit abstract, but see the pictures from Marilyn Paarlberg, the executive director of Room for All on December 6 during coffee hour. To be a part of God transforming the world can be quite interesting!

Room for All is an organization within our denomination, the Reformed Church in America. While it has not been endorsed by our denominational leadership, it has made a difference in the lives of many of our congregations. And so do we when we engage in activities of justice, peace and mercy in the world into which God has placed us. May the New Year bring us many more opportunities of this kind!
