It’s a joyous event in any church’s life when two are getting married. For Crystal and Kraig Wade, it was special in addition, because they had been married by civil ceremony for some time. Consequently their celebration on Feb 7th felt more like taking a break from the daily work of family life, a break for prayer, reflection, and giving thanks.
The sermon centered on Jesus’ parable of the house built on rock in contrast to the house built on sand. But the thanksgiving part was the best, the reception dinner, the speeches, and the dancing that followed. It’s hard not to give thanks, if you have a happy family life with two children as wonderful as Devon and Reshan. The swirls on the dance floor expressed this well.
