Christmas Eve – Filled with Lessons and Caroling

Christmas Eve is full of preparations and singing. Here is the schedule for December 24th;
5:30 – 6:00 p.m., the Choir and Bells rehearse in the sanctuary
6:00 – 6:20 p.m., there will be a light supper provided for the choirs
6:30 – 7:15 p.m., everyone is invited to go caroling (see below)
7:30 p.m., there will be a Candlelight Worship with Lessons and Carols

After worship, a delightful fellowship hour with mulled cider and treats is provided by Liz Hance.

Let me share with you a unique opportunity regarding one of our traditions which is caroling before our Christmas Eve service. We usually gather at the steps outside of the church and start our carol singing. Then we will cross the street (carefully) and go around Hiram Square, stopping in front of various houses in order to sing a few favorites. We invite everyone to join us! It does not matter if you do not know all the songs; we take a hymnal along so everybody can sing. It might help to bring a flashlight so you can read the words more easily. Afterwards we will return to a warm Fellowship Hall, where cookies and warm drinks will be available.

Just one request: PLEASE, please be very careful when crossing the street. It will be dark and car drivers might not see us crossing. Use your flashlight to make yourself seen.

I hope to see many faces during the singing so we can spread the good news about the birth of Christ!
