Music Notes

here are many ways which you can volunteer for the emerging music ministry at First Reformed Church. You can play with the bell choir, which is an opportunity to have fun with our small group and learn how to read music in a simple and accessible way. Rehearsals are every Sunday at 9:50am. You could sing with the adult choir; the adult choir sings music ranging from the Renaissance to the 21st Century. We have rehearsals every Wednesday at 7:00pm except the first Wednesday of the month, and on Sunday mornings at 9:00am. The first choir rehearsal this year will be on Wednesday, September 9. Also, if you know a child who is in grade 3 or older, he or she is welcome to sing with the Rainbow Children’s Choir. We are already lining up performances for this year and it’s always so rewarding to see the enthusiasm of children who participate.

We sang in many languages, and enjoyed the company of such wonderful composers as Ralph Vaughan Williams, John Bell, Bach, Handel, Mozart, and others. Continue reading
